Personally I don’t do any sports, because when I was younger I have a heart illness, and I have four operations, two of those were open heart surgery. So I can’t do much sports, because I get tired in just a few minutes, and I don’t train in all my life, so I don’t have a good physical conditions.
Anyway, I think sports are so many important for people and for the nation, because sports gives you important values like effort, perseverance, responsibility and love and respect for the body, and for other way you have best physical conditions, so when you get old you have best chances to live more longer than the people who don’t do any sport in their life.
For the country, sports are a good way to decrease the delinquency, and improve the people’s life quality, with a healthy life style.
But nowadays sport are don’t considerate at the governments, because some topics are more important, who it’s true, but they don’t think about little things who can change the vision and the attitudes of the people. And education doesn’t considered too, because for example the sports psychologists can’t study this mayor in Chile, they have to do in other countries, and people doesn’t know the importance of this mayor or the changes who can be if we admit their importance. That would be a form to encourage people to do some sports, incentive them to do sports, show the importance to do sports in simple life.
I considerer “rodeo a la chilena” a popular sport, but I think that the bad treatment to animals don’t are a good way to express the values of the make sports, so I think that bullfight it’s doesn’t deserved call a sport or a good activity.
I think that all the activities who gave values and make an improvement in the simple life are good practices for people, and sports gives you relax and a way to improve yourself.

Post # 5: What to do & where to go in Santiago

When you come to Santiago, one of the places that you can visit is La Moneda, because it’s the place when the most important part of the government works, like the president. Other places could be O’Higgins Park, Padre Hurtado’s Park, neighbourhood Lastarria, National library, Municipal Theatre, National Stadium, Ex Congress, Central Market and all historic patrimonies of the center of the city, because there you can see the old architecture, everywhere you go.
So, there you can eat typical food like empanadas, barbecue, mote with huesillos, or traditional food like ice cream (obviously handmade, because they are so much tasty), or Barros Luco (it’s a sandiwich with hot cheese and beef). Then you can buy handicrafts to give to your family or friends (probably they would be expecting about your trip and they surely wants a present who serves to know about the country that you visited).
So, the top list of the places that you can visit when you come to Santiago are:
- La Moneda, the place where the government works, and receive the most important personalities, like the other presidents of different countries or writers, actors, scientists, painters. I think it’s the most important place that you can visit, because it represents the Chilean State.
- Municipal Theatre, it’s the place where you can listen to beautiful pieces of music and she ballet, with an spectacular cast and musicians, and this architecture shows the European influences, and inside you can see a lot of wonderful details, specially in the armchairs, boxes and the roof. I recommended it because it’s a beautiful place, full of art and mental peace.
- Central Market, it’s the place where you can find traditional Chilean food, overall shellfish and many kinds of fishes. I think this place its very important because you can eat in a very traditional place, and its very good food.
- O Higgins Park, it’s a very extensive park when you have a lot of activities like pedals boat, skating, bicycle, walking, in a lovely place. It’s a family place, you can find all type of people and you can eat an icecream or pop corn, cotton candy or drink a soda.
- At least, but no more important could be National Library, when you can find all kinds of books, magazines, and a really nice architecture. It’s a big collection of literature because their have been collecting above 150 years or more. It’s a beautiful place, so relaxing and you can study and concentrate very well.

Post # 4: the role of music

Music represents for me: the most beautiful way to express feelings, the things that represent you and your own history, your life experiences, and all the things that you like. In other words, music shows places, histories, feelings, emotions…It’s a great form to express with poetry and sounds.
I listen to so many kinds of music: pop, rock, classical, and so much more, because the great majority of kind of music have their own essence, a special way to express what they want to show.
I get my music by internet or taking music of my mp3 friends, because I don’t always like all the music of one group or singer, I just want one or two songs, and I don’t have the money to buy the cd’s. I like very much mp3 or mp4 (but my favorite it’s Ipod) to listen de music, because you can stay with music the most part of the day, for the easy way that you can transport them.
I think I don’t follow any group or singers, but I like so much Michelle Branch (The Wreckers too), Vanessa Carlton and Backstreet Boys, I have all of their cd’s.
I listen the same music all the time, maybe I change it when I have to study very very hard and concentrate, then I listen to classical music, specially Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Tchaikovsky. I think when I have very strong emotions I adapted the music that I listen to, but that not passed all the time.
I think music fills my life, because I can’t live without music, its an accompaniment, my way to relieve, to be in peace with myself the most part of time, I need to heard sounds all the time.

Post3: What is your opinion of Transantiago?

I think Transantiago is better than yellow buses system, because I think it’s more organized (the routes and colors of the different kinds of buses like Orange in Vitacura, Las Condes and Lo Barnechea communes and troncales who crosses almost all the city) and modern (the Bip! card it’s a good example, or the GPS system in some buses). I think the tariffs are a little bit expensive, but it’s the governments way to weigh the not pay of some users.
When the yellow buses system where active I have to walk a lot, because I don’t have a bus stop near my home, and usually I have to take more buses to get to the places that I want to go. In other way, I don’t know so much routes because I don’t have a place to search, I have to ask to someone else. Now, I have the information that I need at www.transantiagoinforma.cl, the routes, the different kinds to go to the different places, I have to pay just one time to get to the place that I want and I have a bus stop near my house, and I now exactly what buses passed there.
The changes I want to apply would be more GPS systems, new busses (more comfortable), more metro lines, more frequency buses and more routes and bus stop. Other thing that I want to change would be more places to charge the Bip! card.

Well, I have to go now
Greetings!

Post # 2: A country I would like to visit

I want to go to Greece because I love his culture and History. I think they have an incredible historical patrimony like the Acropolis or Pompey or the Parthenon. I think antique Greeks were so much intelligent in so many ways: mathematics, philosophy, architecture, craft, literature, sculpture and things so much interesting like the religion: his gods and histories are so much creative and demonstrate so much love to they customs. In his history, we can find so much moments like Punic and Persian wars, and we can find a lot of historical prominent figures like Plato, Aristotle, Homer, Socrates, Alexander and so many more. They invented the Olympic Games, and they gave us books like the Iliad and the Odyssey, or Antigona and so much things more.

I want to go there precisely for that, for they history and patrimony.

I know so much about this history, and his culture, and I thing they have a beautiful country.
I want to go and meet all this places that I mentioned before, and see with my eyes the incredible things that they do in a very very long time ago.

If I have the opportunity to live or study or work (for so much time) there I think I refuse, because I love Chile and I want to work here all my life. I want to go there just for meet this country, I think no more than three months. I hope that someday I can visited finally, because I wanted for practically all my life. When I was young I love to see photos of Greece and I read a lot of his mythology histories and I just fall in love with his history. I think they have an extraordinary culture, and they gave us so much things that we used for centuries, and this things don’t pass in the whole world.
